Thank you for your interest in participating in the North Carolina Azalea Festival Scholarship Pageant. This scholarship pageant is open to high school Juniors in New Hanover County, Brunswick, and Pender county. The Pageant is based on a private interview with judges, evening gown competition, and on-stage presentation. The Azalea Festival gives away over $12,000 annually in scholarship monies to the winner and runners up of the Scholarship Pageant. Additionally, the winner of the Scholarship Pageant is invited to be the Official Azalea Festival Princess, with the four runners up as her Court. The Azalea Festival Princess represents the Festival to the public for the entire year.
If you will be a high school Junior in March, 2017 and are interested in learning more about the North Carolina Azalea Festival Scholarship Pageant, please sign up on this site. You must be a Junior in High School and be able to attend Sunday meetings from January-March 2017.
The mandatory contestant/parent Scholarship Pageant Interest Meeting will be held January 8, 2017 at First Baptist Activity Center, Independence Blvd. in Room 201 A/B at 2:00 PM. This is an informational meeting where parent (guardian) should attend. You will have the opportunity to officially sign up and registration fee will be due at that time.
The Scholarship Pageant will be held Friday March 4, 2017 from 7:30pm - 9:30pm in Kenan Auditorium at UNCW.
